- Outside Northern Virginia: the $3,500 removal fee plus travel, quoted for your location and agreed before travel is confirmed.
The fee covers standard removal of an existing vinyl wrap from the vehicle before your new installation.
It does not cover every situation. Unusually difficult removal, excessive adhesive, multiple layers, severely deteriorated film or other abnormal conditions are reviewed and priced before work proceeds — we tell you, we do not surprise you.
Vinyl wrap only. It does not cover paint protection film (ppf) removal, ceramic coating removal, paint repair, body repair, dent repair, collision repair. Removing an existing wrap is a separate fee from the wrap itself. It is not included in the $7,000 color-change vinyl, $11,000 3M™ Protection Wrap Film or $15,000 Avery Dennison® Conform Chrome projects.
Because every vehicle and every idea is different, the final price is set after we review the vehicle, the finish or design you want, the material, the condition and the scope.

Some people want a straightforward color change. Others want something nobody else is driving. Creative work can mean extra design, planning, material, preparation and finishing — which is why the price comes after we have seen the project, not before.
One vehicle. One install. All our attention.
We are not trying to move cars through as fast as possible. Careful preparation, professional installation, finishing and inspection take the time they take.
Example: on a $7,000 project the $1,000 deposit is applied toward the total, leaving a $6,000 remaining balance due at drop-off. The deposit is not an extra charge.
Can we wrap over paint chips or imperfections?
In many cases, yes. We can install vinyl or film over certain existing paint chips and minor surface imperfections. The condition of the surface does affect the final appearance, adhesion and longevity of the installation, so it is a conversation rather than an automatic yes.
Significant damage, loose or peeling paint, severe corrosion, major dents or otherwise unstable surfaces may need repair before installation. We do not perform those repairs — the vehicle would need to go to a qualified third-party provider first.

Workmanship — 12 months from the day you collect the vehicle
Our workmanship coverage applies to installation-related problems under normal use, within the coverage period. Premature edge lifting, installation-related film failure, or another workmanship concern — tell us, and we inspect the car and work out the right fix.

Tell us the vehicle and the finish you want, and we’ll take it from there. A deposit reserves your project — the date is agreed with you after we have reviewed it.

This is the standard case: color-change vinyl, at the Ashburn studio, inside our home area, with no old film to remove. Travel, removal and the thicker films change the number — check which one you are before you pay.
We do not carry insurance on your car. There is no commercial garage-keepers policy covering damage to your Tesla while it is with us, and no policy number to give you, because there is no policy. What we do instead is document: the car is photographed and its condition recorded at intake, and we walk it with you against that record at handover. That deters and it evidences — it does not indemnify you. Your own insurance is the coverage that applies. The full terms.
The deposit is non-refundable. Paying it commits the project. We do not decline work over timing or difficulty — what we do instead is tell you the truth about your car first. Failing clearcoat, rust or an old wrap underneath change what the finish can look like, and we will show you what to expect on your car rather than after it. The decision is yours. If we do decline a project after you have paid, the deposit is returned in full. What we tell you before you pay.
Reserve your project.
We follow up within 24–72 hours to agree your date and time. Installation dates are typically 4–8 weeks out.
Your deposit is applied to your project total — it is not an additional fee. The balance is due before installation begins, or you can pay it early.
Before you pay — deposit terms, cancellation, and how we handle your car
Put your model and color in the Square note.
This one is required. When you pay, type your Tesla model and the color you want into the note field on the Square page — for example “Model Y — 3M 2080-S12 Satin Black”.
Square doesn’t tell us what a payment is for. Without that note we have a deposit and no idea whose car it belongs to, which delays your booking while we work it out.
Changing your mind.
There is no partial refund and no cancellation window. The deposit is non-refundable from the moment it is paid — it is not a hold on a date, it is a commitment to the project, and it goes toward your total rather than being an extra fee. We would far rather you asked every question you have before paying than discover one afterwards, so ask them: we will tell you what a wrap will and will not do on your particular car.
What we will not do is take your money and then refuse the work over timing or difficulty. If your paint is failing, or there is rust, or there is an old wrap underneath, that changes what the finish can look like and sometimes what comes off with the film — we will show you what to expect on your car and let you decide. Proceeding is your call, and once you make it the money is committed.

Nothing is ordered until you have confirmed the vehicle, the film and the color with us. From the moment we place that order, the project can no longer be canceled and the money paid is not refundable — the material is bought for your specific car and it does not go back on the shelf.
You will know exactly when that happens. We order within one to three business days of confirming your material, and you get an email with the order number and tracking as soon as Grimco gives it to us. That email is your notice that the cancellation window has closed.
Your car, while it’s with us.
- Gated property — The site is fenced and gated. Your vehicle is not sitting on an open forecourt.
- Cameras inside — The installation area is camera-monitored — the same footage that protects you protects us.
- Cameras outside — Exterior coverage of the property and approach.
- Indoors — The work happens inside. Vehicles aren’t stored outside as part of normal operations.
- Updates by text — We text you as the project moves — arrival, installation started, into finishing and quality control, ready for collection. You should never have to ask where your car is.
Cameras and a gate are security measures. They deter, and they record what happened — they are not an insurance policy, and we do not carry one on your vehicle. TeslaWrapper does not currently hold a commercial garage-keepers policy covering damage to a customer car in our care, so your own insurance is the coverage that applies while the car is here. That is worth a call to your insurer before you leave a car anywhere, ours included. What we can tell you is what we do instead: the condition is photographed and reviewed with you before any work starts, the car is kept indoors on a gated, camera-monitored site, and we walk it with you in daylight against that record before you take it. Travel, an existing wrap to remove, a specialty film on a Cybertruck, or paint that needs looking at first — those are quoted rather than published, and we would rather look at yours than guess.
It comes off.That is the whole point.
Think of it as gift wrap for your car. You are not repainting anything — you are wrapping what is already there. The paper comes off and the present underneath is the present you started with.
Film sits on top of your paint, not in it. Nothing is sanded, nothing is sprayed, and the factory finish is untouched the whole time the wrap is on. That is why people wrap leased cars and hand them back in the original color, and why a wrap is the one way to change how a car looks that you can undo.
While it is on, it is also taking the hits your paint would have taken — road grit, sun, small scratches. A car that has spent three years under film often comes out better than the one parked next to it.
Wrap it. Live with it. Take it off when you are done.
Where the gift-wrap comparison stops.
Wrapping paper does not stick to the present for three years. Film does, and how cleanly it comes off depends on the paint it was stuck to — which is a surface we did not put there.
What we do instead is inspect for exactly that before we install rather than discover it at the end. If your car is a poor candidate we will tell you before you pay us anything.
When removal gets risky, and what 3M will not warrant
Factory paint in good condition is the best case there is, and if your Tesla has never been resprayed, repaired or previously wrapped, that is what you have. Where removal gets genuinely risky is old paint, a previous respray, or panels somebody else repaired. 3M’s own warranty expressly excludes what the trade calls paint pull — a patch of paint lifting away with the film instead of staying on the car — and we are not going to make a promise the manufacturer declines to make.

Your panels are cut from your vehicle’s pattern before your appointment. Our installer arrives at your home in a scheduled four-hour window, and the installation runs over two to three days depending on the vehicle and the package.

This is a requirement of mobile installation, not of working with us. Installing at your address needs a single-family detached home you own, with a private enclosed garage held in the film’s working range, around 70°F — so condos, townhouses and apartments do not qualify for the mobile route. If that is you, the other two routes are open: drive the car to our Ashburn studio, or ask us to quote travel to a facility in your market.

Mobile adds a travel fee once you are outside our home area — Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William counties, plus the independent cities inside them — Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax City, Manassas and Manassas Park — and bringing the car to Ashburn never does. Beyond those counties it is $750 where we drive and $1,500 where we fly, agreed in writing before travel is confirmed.

The 10 & 2 method
A hand and body position that keeps the squeegee under control as it crosses a panel — angle, pressure and stroke staying consistent instead of drifting as the reach gets longer. It is named for where the hands sit, the way ten-and-two describes hands on a wheel.
That is our own technique and how we describe it. We are not calling it an industry standard, a certification or a guarantee — it is how this shop works a panel.

Can’t come to Ashburn?We can come to you.
Our studio in Ashburn, Virginia is where most cars are wrapped, and it is the better option whenever you can make the trip — controlled lighting, controlled temperature, and the car has the bay to itself. Mobile installation exists for people who genuinely cannot get there.
Mobile installation requires a qualifying single-family detached home with a private garage, held between 60 and 90°F while we work — 3M’s range for the film, not a house rule. Both are hard requirements and both are checked before you pay: a garage that passes on space and fails on temperature is still a no, and in January that is the one that catches people. Travel is quoted by project — a published fee in the markets we run regularly, and a real figure for anywhere else.
Questions we get asked.
How much does a Tesla wrap cost?
Color change starts at $7,000, Protection Wrap Film at $11,000, Conform Chrome at $15,000. Those are starting figures, not final ones — the vehicle, how much of it you want covered, the film and the finish all move the number. Color change is the exception and it is deliberate: $7,000 is $7,000 whether it is a Model 3 or a Cybertruck, even though the truck is a much bigger job. The thicker films do scale — a Cybertruck sits above the $11,000 and $15,000 figures rather than at them, because more surface is genuinely more material. We quote the car in front of us rather than publishing a price that will not hold.
What is the deposit?
$1,000 for a color change, $3,000 for Protection Wrap Film, $4,000 for Conform Chrome. Your deposit is applied to your project total — it is not an additional fee.
What Tesla models do you work on?
Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck. Narrowing to three is deliberate — repetition on the same shapes is what makes a wrap look right, and each of those cars fights a wrap somewhere different. The Cybercab is the fourth: reservations are open and nobody has wrapped one yet, including us.
How far in advance are installations scheduled?
Installation dates are typically 4–8 weeks out. Once your car is with us it is usually two to three days, or up to seven on a larger project. Those are two different numbers and people mix them up, so both are confirmed with your quote.
How does mobile installation work?
It exists for people who genuinely cannot get to Ashburn. We come to you and install in your own garage — which means the garage has to be somewhere film can actually be installed: a single-family detached home you own, fully enclosed, held in the film’s working range, around 70°F before we arrive and throughout the installation, with three to five feet clear on every side of the car and safe access to power. Not a driveway, not a shared garage, not a condo or townhouse — that is a hard requirement rather than a preference. Do not overshoot either: a garage running far above the film’s working range is its own problem, so heat it to temperature rather than as hot as the heater will go. We review the property before agreeing to travel, and outside our home area there is a travel fee.
Is the installation warranted?
Yes — 12 months from the day you collect the car, covering our workmanship. Premature edge lifting, installation-related film failure or a similar workmanship problem under normal use: tell us, we inspect the car and we work out the right fix. What it does not cover is damage rather than workmanship — accidents, road debris and scratches, brush car washes, pressure washing straight at edges and seams, or film damaged by products it is not rated for. The film manufacturer’s own warranty is a separate thing that runs on 3M or Avery’s terms, and we help you make that claim rather than absorbing it as free rework.

We photograph your film as we unpack the shipment and send them to you, so you see the actual material that arrived before anything is cut. Nobody asks for this. Everybody likes it.

When your film is ordered the selection is locked to your project. No silent substitution to whatever is in stock, and any change after that is recorded with who approved it.

If an edge lifts or a seam opens because of how it was installed, we put it right at no charge for labor or material for twelve months. Small corrections can often be handled at an event or a Supercharger rather than a trip back.

These are the manufacturer’s own product photographs of the product itself, used with the seller’s permission. They are not photographs of mats we made — we do not make them — and the layout in them is a generic one, not your Tesla’s floorplan. Yours is cut for your model, year and seating configuration, which is why we confirm all three before anything is ordered. Two of them carry a “CUSTOM LOGO” panel: that is the manufacturer’s placeholder in their own catalog photograph, not something we print and not something we offer — your mats come without it. And neither a photograph shot under somebody else’s lights nor a swatch we drew is a color match — text us before you pay and we will talk the color through against the film going on your car.

Wrap two Teslas at $6,000 each when both vehicles are at the same address and parked next to each other for the scheduled installation. That is $1,000 off per Tesla, $2,000 in total, and we coordinate both cars through the same visit schedule.
One trip, one setup, both cars. We bring the equipment and the pre-cut kits once and work the two vehicles through the same service windows instead of doing the whole thing twice.
Wrap Together is color-change vinyl only — 3M™ or Avery Dennison®. It does not apply to 3M™ Protection Wrap Film or to Avery Dennison® Conform Chrome, at any number of cars: those are priced per vehicle whether you bring one or three. Every figure here — $6,000 a car, $12,000 for two, $18,000 for three — is two or three vinyl wraps specifically.

The founder holds four issued U.S. patents — three in vehicle surface treatment and service robotics, and one in a different field entirely. None of that touches your car: every wrap we install is done by hand, by a person, and the robotics work is a separate research track.
We say that plainly because the alternative is letting a patent number imply something about your install that isn’t true.
